Staying connected through e-mail:
There are 1.9 billion people using e-mail globally. On average, they send 294 billion e-mails per day. Of the 2.9 billion known e-mail accounts worldwide, 25% are corporate accounts. In total, there were 107 trillion e-mails sent in 2010, of which 89% of these were spam related.

A world of websites:
By the end of last year, there were 255 million websites on the internet. 21.4 million new websites were added in 2010 alone. By the end of 2010, the number of domain names grew 7% from 2009 – 102 million domain names in 2009 and 109 million in 2010.

Internet users on the rise:
There are 2 billion internet users worldwide, rising by 14% in 2010. The most popular web browsers in 2010, by market share, were Internet Explorer (47%), Firefox (31%), Google Chrome (15%), Safari (5%) and Opera (2%).

Social Media – More sharing with the world:
There were 600 million people on Facebook by the end of last year. 250 million of these users signed up in 2010. 20 million Facebook applications are installed every day and every year 36 billion photos are uploaded to Facebook. 100 million new accounts were added on Twitter in 2010 and 25 billion tweets were sent last year. There’s an estimate of 152 million blogs on the internet.

Flooding the internet with online media:
2 billion videos are watched on YouTube per day and every minute there are 35 hours of video footage being uploaded to YouTube. There are 3 000 images uploaded to Flickr every minute. By September 2010 there were 5 billion photos on Flickr.
